NEW STUDENTS

Everything you need to know before your first class

Are the classes suitable for beginners?

All of our classes welcome beginners throughout the year. Our advanced students love the opportunity to support those who are starting out.

Do I need to wear a uniform?

Just wear something that is comfortable and easy to move in. When you decide that taekwondo is for you, order a uniform through your instructor. A standard uniform is $60.

What do I do in my first class?

Arrive ten minutes early, and introduce yourself to one of our friendly instructors. Let them know about any relevant medical conditions or injuries that may affect your training. You're welcome to join in the first class, watch or a combination of both.

How much do classes cost?

Casual lessons: $10 for singles, $25 for families

Monthly passes: $55 for singles and $125 for families.

Some of our classes operate on a slightly different pay structure, but those instructors will let you know before your first lesson.

What about insurance and registration?

Taekwondo is a very safe activity. Nevertheless, like all responsible sporting associations, we require our students to have player accident insurance. Student registration and insurance is $25 per person per year. New students have a month to try taekwondo before they need to pay insurance.

At what age can children start?

Children can usually start from 4 years. If you think taekwondo might suit your child, the best way to find out is to bring them along for a trial.

How fit do I need to be?

Munting Taekwondo Tasmania is suitable for everyone. Children, grandparents, elite athletes; there is something for everyone and we all participate and progress at our own pace.
